Lise Fearnley is one of the leading animation producers in the Nordic region. Lise has produced two Oscar nominated films, of which Torill Kove’s The Danish Poet won the Oscar for Best Animated Short in 2007. In the talk, Lise Fearnley will present some animation shorts produced by the Oscar-winning studio Mikrofilm and talk about her experience of creating animation in today’s world. She will also share her thoughts on how AI and new technologies of graphic generation changes the animation industry.

XR creator and research-based artist. Daming holds a doctorate degree in Scenography from the Central Academy of Drama in China. With a unique perspective rooted in theater, she delves into the realm of XR (AR/VR/MR). Her debut VR dance film, “Or Bit” (2019), garnered international acclaim and was celebrated at numerous festivals and exhibitions. Currently, Daming is the Lecturer at the School of Art and Communication at China Jiliang University.

In this talk, you will learn more about the fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee to develop an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, taking place in Busan, Korea. Precious Plastic Zurich will also share its experience recycling plastic and starting a project as part of the global community of people concerned with the use and recycling of plastic. They believe that the value of this resource should not be lost at the end of products’ lives.

Police departments issue fines for minor public safety violations, such as traffic tickets for speeding, to deter unlawful behavior. In this paper, we study the issue of policing and revenue generation in the US state of Missouri, before and after the fatal shooting of Michael Brown by a police officer in August 2014. We use detailed data on municipal court finances and municipal policing to evaluate the effects of these reforms in the aftermath of the shooting. Our study aims to explain which reforms were most effective and what underlying mechanisms led to the documented responses in policing.
